If you know me really well you may know that when I enter a kitchen I always end up inventing new recipes.
My mother's birthday was this Friday and I wanted to do a birthday cake. She doesn't like to eat things with chocolate so I decided to do a lemon cake.
The cake didn't grow in the oven ( I used a way-too-big cake mold ), so I decided to make a butter cream, cut the cake into layers and create a new kind of cake.
If you love lemon but you also love to taste something sweet then this cake is for you!
I really loved the result although it wasn't exactly what I had in mind at first, but oh well... If you want some deliciousness keep reading!
The cake
Lemon Cake Ingredients:
- 175gr Sugar - 3 Eggs - 220gr Flour - 100gr Margarine - 1 Lemon - 1 Natural Yogurt - 1 teaspoon Baking powder - Pinch of Salt |
1- Turn ON the oven at 180ºC
2- Cut the lemon and grind it with the eggs and sugar. 3- Put the mixture in a pan ( heat it a bit ), and add the margarine, yogurt and a pinch of salt. 4- Add the flour and baking powder and mix it! 5- Put the mixture in the oven for about 30 minutes. |
The butter cream
Butter Cream Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of milk - 375gr Sugar - 125gr Butter |
1- Grind the sugar separately
2- Put the butter and milk in a pan (heat it) and mix. 3- Add the sugar, mix it a bit more. 4- Put it in the fridge if you want it to have more consistency. |
Putting everything together
Cut the cake into equal sized parts. Put the first piece in the plate, and start adding butter cream till you fill the cake completely.
Add another layer and repeat the process till you're out of cake and butter.
Enjoy the result and eat a lot!
